For predator fishing, waders and fishing boots are indispensable for fishing hard-to-reach spots, landing fish safely, or simply staying dry by the waterside.
Predator Waders:
A wader is a one-piece, waterproof suit that usually reaches to the armpits and is held on the shoulders by suspenders. There are three main types of material, each with its own advantages:
Neoprene waders:
Made of thick, insulating rubber (often 4mm or 5mm). This is the standard for cold weather and winter fishing. The material is robust but relatively heavy and can be too warm in the summer.
PVC/Nylon waders:
The most affordable and lightest option. They are 100% waterproof but do not breathe, which can cause condensation to form on the inside. Fishing boots:
When the water is not deep or you only need protection against wet grass and mud, boots are a more practical alternative:
Thermal boots:
Specially lined boots for static fishing or extremely cold days to prevent frozen toes.
